Freelance design & innovation professional
Design engineer with the ability to turn abstract problems into concrete solutions.
Want to borrow my creative mind for a while?
Feel free to contact me.
Problems often have more than one solution. We can brainstorm together to find those solutions.
My main strengths are design thinking, exploratory sketching and paper prototyping.
Having a good idea is the first step, but what comes next? I can help you structure the development process all the way from your initial idea to a product that is ready for market.
I'm a design engineer, which means I love making stuff.
I am proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite, 3D CAD modeling in Solidworks and I know my (X)HTML, CSS and PHP.
This holiday cottage on the pieceful island of Texel was poorly promoted online. With fellow designers Joris Helming, Daan Groot, Eelco Schouten and Tim van Laar, we accepted the challenge to make a representative, simple website in just 2 days.
If you are looking for a great place to stay for the weekend, make sure you check out VakantiewoningTexel.com.
Music to the people! With Mixblocks, our mission is to turn everyone into a musician. It is an app that uses musical building blocks to build a song.
As the CEO/co-founder of Mixblocks BV, I am the spokesman with responsibility for the concept, strategy and realization of the project.
We are moving fast. For the most recent information, visit the Mixblocks website.
After successfully launching the Versusshop.nl webshop, the founders wanted to increase their marketshare by offering kitesurfing lessons in Scheveningen.
In this project I was responsible for converting the graphic design to a full website (HTML, CSS and jQuery). You can view the result here.
Being a guitarist myself, I was surprised that many guitar stores are invisible from the Internet. I started this website to map all the guitar stores in the Netherlands with help of the Dutch community of guitarists on Gitaarnet.nl and Gitaar.net.
Although started as a hobby project, this website has a high rank in Google and has significant monthly traffic. You can view it here.
Since 2010 I have made multiple websites with and for Nina van de Vondervoort to promote her activities as a freelance illustrator.
While we have made custom websites in the past, the most recent version is a customization of a Wordpress theme. For a better impression, visit Ninatown.com.
The SunBin is an interactive, solar-powered waste container aimed at children. It is my graduation project for Industrial Design Engineering.
Thanks to Royal Dutch Bammens BV and PopFactory we got a prototype made for Park de Horst in The Hague. We got media coverage by Jeugdjournaal and De Telegraaf. On top of that, my graduation was rewarded with a 10 and won 2nd place at the The Hague University Link thesis awards 2012.
The founders of Versus Kiteboarding approached me when they started their webshop in 2009. Together, we have set up the initial version with a simple custom back-end and grew it over the years. In 2012, the development team expanded and my role changed from all-round to front-end developer.
Today, Versus Kiteboarding has multiple websites with a dedicated maintenance team. I encourage you to take a look at Versusshop.
TANIQ is a high-tech company, specialized in optimal fibre reinforcement for rubber products. I have been working with them since 2009 and am still actively involved in developing their website(s).
My work focuses on the HTML, CSS and PHP and SEO. I have made a custom Content Management System for them in 2009 which is still being used (and updated). Visit the TANIQ website.
Verse Ontwerpers started as a collective of three Industrial Design Engineering students: Daan Groot, Joris Helming and myself. We started by organizing design-related activities to fellow students. Our goal was to bridge the knowledge gap between university and the industry.
Today, we are still picking up projects together: from fairytale to factory.
